Coffee – Although everywhere you look people seem to be drinking coffee, whether on the go, at home or at the local Star Bucks. However, coffee is not a good idea is you suffer with ibs. This is partly due to the fact that it contains caffeine, but it should also be noted that even decaffinated coffee is best avoided. The reason for this is that coffee contains an enzyme which is often found to trigger the irritable bowel syndrome symptoms. It is therefore quite likely to make your condition worse, so is best kept away from all together.
Alcohol – This is another no no if you have ibs. Although many people enjoy an alcoholic beverage and say that it helps them to relax and unwind, it should certainly be something that you try to avoid in your ibs diet.
